Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is essentially a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
Just as the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit while they transport loads. The Rider model however, utilizes a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of loads over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to lift and move unstable or tall loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider might be the right answer if you are looking for an inexpensive method for transporting cargo from one location to another. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the best option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is particularly designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load in order to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that could function in smaller aisles. They are really handy pieces of equipment in physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
