The Carriage
The carriage is similar to a traditional lift truck since the lifting attachment could be tilted backwards and forwards from its horizontal. The tilt which is possible on this machine exceeds more than that of the vertical masts. There is a large variety of lifting attachments offered, and this positioning ability makes them as effective as possible.
Nearly all telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position that is actually parallel to the ground. Several models have rotating carriages as well. This allows the operator to adjust the lifting attachment radially. This translates to the load being capable of being tilted forwards and backwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Knowing the load capacity of a telehandler is a much different exercise than it is on a vertical mast unit. The capacity of the model is completely dependent on such things like: boom extension and angle, whether the unit is lifting on outriggers or on rubber tires, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. Moreover, which lifting attachment plays a very important role, as does the wind, the grade the machine is operating on et cetera. All of these specifics can be changing on a constant basis and this gives the operator much more information to consider.
Telehandlers would usually have several different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they could utilize to know a certain lift's load capacity. Depending on the unit in particular and the configuration of the boom, the load capacity may vary by thousands of pounds all together.
