Inventor Jerome Case founded the company of CASE within Racine, when he began the building of threshing equipment. Later the business gained recognition globally as the initial builder of steam engines for its agricultural application. Case had established themselves in the construction equipment industry by 1912. They became a manufacturer of road building machines including steam rollers and road graders. Case grew their construction equipment company through various acquisitions, beginning with the American Tractor Corporation during 1957. Case had expanded their business by the middle part of the 1990s to become the leading manufacturer of light-sized to medium-sized construction equipment.
Case merged with the company New Holland in the year 1999 and together they became CNH Global. This company became responsible for advertising some of the world's top brands of agricultural and construction machinery.
