Boom Lift Tips
A great tool to reach high places from the comfort of a metal deck can be done with an aerial boom. There are various sizes and styles and models to pick from. These lifts can operate on diesel or gasoline engines and also from electrical batteries. Boom lifts are specifically able to raise occupants up to heights of 150 feet. In order to safely use these lifts, the operator should put on approved harnesses which are attached to the lifting platform.
How High Do I Need to Go?
Before choosing a lift, it is better to evaluate the task you will be performing. If able, measure the height form the ground to the work place. Before commencing, scout out the location which the lift would be traveling because terrain which is uneven will use a different boom lift as opposed to a work area on concrete or asphalt. The job location is also really appointment. Lifts which would be moving a lot will provide better service if they are gas or diesel powered. The battery powered models should be recharged more frequently because they will run down fast after great distances are traveled, despite the differences in terrain.
Before starting a job, make sure you are familiar with operating the equipment. Also, complete a daily check by checking all the components and do a visual inspection around the machinery. Take note of the tires and make sure that they are inflated properly to the right pressure. Visually check beneath the lift to be certain that noting is caught on the undercarriage. Safety inspections can be the difference between keeping the operator and those around them safe.
