In the year 1966, Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries. During that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" which was utilized to lower and raise the hoist. This mechanism greatly impressed lots of customers and therefore, the name was established.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, because the need for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, as the demand for new equipment to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into manufacturing telehandlers, stick booms, articulated booms, light towers and man-lifts.
Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values as a result of the economic slump during the start of the 2000s, when they partnered with Terex. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the initial few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie machines continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving efficiency and quality and is also dedicated to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on providing outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality equipment.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC machinery are emission-free, quiet equipment capable of working in delicate work settings. Where the machinery should be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator along with the advantages of a 48V DC equipment.
Compared to any of the various types of aerial platforms, telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach overall. These equipment are great for limited access areas in construction and other industrial settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to offer utmost productivity. These equipment deliver the drive speed and supreme traction you require in order to travel around the work site and job area.
